The first exclusive edition of 50 units is being sold this year. A cheaper version is slated for 2019.

Slovak company Ecocapsule has officially launched the production of the first, exclusive series of their homonymous micro-home. This first round will be limited to 50 units and available at € 79.900 only for customers from the USA, Japan, Australia and the EU. A more accessible, cheaper version is slated for 2019.

News of the Ecocpasule first came around in 2015, with the release of a prototype that promised the perks of a mobile, truly off-grid tiny house with the looks and luxury of a hotel room. It took several months of designing and testing before getting to the final product, but now the firm behind the egg-shaped dwelling reports that the first unit is finally complete.

Marking the occasion the company presented its first finished Ecocapsule on the roof of the UNIQ building in the Bratislava city centre. The micro-home was transported by helicopter and later shipped to a customer in Japan.

The company expects to produce and deliver all 50 items from the first series during 2018 and has big plans ahead. According to co-founder and CEO Tomáš Žáček, a second “more affordable mass-produced series” will be available globally at the beginning of the next year.

At the moment, Ecocapsule is planning to receive further investment in order to set up an international sales network and production capacities intended for the mass-produced series.
