Hang Out is a project that is located in New Bund, the international business center in Shanghai. The aim of this creative intervention is to promote entertainment and social interactions between children, youth and adults.

Inspired by the triangulation of the crystal structures, the project takes the form of a huge hexagonal structure from which different fun features are hung, creating a suspended public space.

This project was tested and researched for a while to later be implemented in a public outdoor space. Being a suspended public space, the purpose is to experience the feeling of gravity added to daily public resources.

Each of the triangles has a different suspension function, in order to promote social interactions between visitors, for example: hammocks, seesaws, a pipe forest, a suspended lounge and even a suspended picnic.

The hexagon that appears on the floor, combines two types: intentionally painted and grounded objects, with the purpose of providing an immersive experience. The scape, which is painted on the floor, makes it more attractive to visitors, as well as workers and residents of neighboring towers. 

The result is a visually beautiful and stimulating space for everyone to have fun interacting with other people. It is also a space where they can rest, away from the routine of everyday life.
